Alert' for the national capital, forecasting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms throughout the day. Residents should prepare for thunderstorms and gusty winds today, which might intensify by forenoon. Further, as per the Met Department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h, are anticipated throughout the day.

According to the forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to stay around 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius, under a generally cloudy sky. The precipitation is expected to continue into the evening and night, with similar weather conditions persisting, including thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Delhi on Sunday witnessed a slight change in weather, with light drizzle throughout the day. However, it was humid, with light rain. The change in weather also caused some delay in flights at the Delhi Airport, with airlines issuing travel advisories.
Monsoon's Arrival in Delhi
Notably, the southwest monsoon finally reached Delhi on Thursday, arriving five days later than its normal onset date and bringing much-needed relief to residents. Several parts of the national capital received light rainfall during the morning, while cloudy skies kept temperatures well below normal throughout the day.
This is the first time since 2021 that the monsoon has reached Delhi in July. In 2021, the monsoon arrived on July 13. According to IMD records, the monsoon reached Delhi on June 29 last year. It arrived on June 28 in 2024, June 25 in 2023, June 30 in 2022 and July 13 in 2021.
