- Daily ridership across these lines could reach over 11 lakh passengers by 2031.
Current Status
Phase I of Line 9 has passed all safety checks by the CMRS and is live for operations, even though the formal inauguration was delayed due to elections. The interchange has been open to the public since mid-January.
Areas That Benefit the Most
Commuters from Mira Bhayandar, Dahisar, Borivali, Kandivali, Malad, and Goregaon will gain the most. Faster access to major business hubs like BKC, SEEPZ, and Andheri will make daily travel more predictable and less tiring.
Future Plans
- Extend Line 9 further into Bhayandar
- Develop Line 7A towards the airport
- Add new interchanges with upcoming metro lines
- Once Lines 10 and 13 are completed, metro travel across greater Mumbai will become even more connected, efficient, and convenient.
