Quick commerce continued to reshape everyday buying habits in India, and Zepto’s newly released 2025 shopping trends shows a detailed look at how consumers
relied on speed, convenience, and spontaneity throughout the year. The data highlights not just the scale of the quick commerce in India, but also some striking behaviours that underline how deeply instant delivery has entered our daily life. According to the company, the Zepto app was opened more than 34.6 billion times in 2025. Delivery partners together travelled over 2.45 billion kilometres, and the platform clocked its fastest-ever delivery in just 48 seconds. Zepto also estimates that customers collectively saved close to Rs 17,000 crore through efficiencies in pricing and delivery across the year. Speed, Scale And Savings Define The Year The sheer volume of activity points to quick commerce becoming a default option for essentials as well as last-minute needs. From groceries to gadgets, the promise of near-instant fulfilment translated into frequent app usage and significant cost savings for users over time. These efficiencies, according to Zepto, benefited both regular and high-frequency shoppers across cities. Extreme Users And Eye-Catching Orders Some individual usage patterns stood out sharply. A Mumbai-based customer placed a single order worth Rs 1,89,900, while another user completed 5,894 deliveries in a year, averaging around 16 orders every day. In Gurugram, one customer tipped delivery partners Rs 54,000 over the course of 2025, highlighting how heavy users are engaging more deeply with the ecosystem. City-Wise Preferences Paint A Diverse Picture Shopping habits varied noticeably by region. In Bengaluru, milk, tomatoes, and packaged snacks topped order lists. The city also saw over 69,000 Type-C charging cables sold, and an unusual pairing, coffee and melatonin gummies, appearing together in more than 5,000 orders. Mumbai’s demand leaned heavily towards milk, onions, and bottled water. The city consumed over 7.8 lakh litres of energy drinks during the year, while snacks and condoms showed up together in more than 37,000 carts. Regional Quirks And Consistent Staples In Delhi NCR, milk, onions, and chips dominated baskets in quick commerce, with face masks continuing as a steady category. Fruit preferences varied clearly between North and South Delhi, and Eno combined with Schezwan chutney featured together over 3,700 times. Hyderabad shoppers favoured milk, snacks, and soft drinks. Osmania biscuits crossed 65,000 kilograms in total orders, while sugar-free items and sweets were frequently purchased together, reflecting a blend of indulgence and health-conscious buying.
