At least six to seven people are feared dead after a passenger bus plunged into a deep gorge in Uttarakhand’s Almora district on Tuesday. The accident
took place in the Bhikiyasain area when the bus, which was travelling from Almora towards Ramnagar in Nainital district, lost control and fell into the gorge near Vinayak, according to officials of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), PTI reported.

The bus was carrying around 17 to 18 passengers at the time of the accident. Officials said six to seven people are believed to have died on the spot.
Rescue operations are underway, with injured passengers being pulled out of the gorge and rushed to the government hospital in Bhikiyasain for treatment, the SDRF said.
