The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has revised the examination dates for the recruitment exam of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment 2025–26. The recruitment examination was
earlier scheduled to be from February 16 to February 18, 2026. However, the examinations will now be held on February 13, 16, 17 and 18, 2026. This notification is specifically for the CBT 1 exam. The revised dates were released today (January 30). Through this recruitment drive, a total of 9,970 vacancies are being filled for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) across various railway zones in the country. Candidates, including those, who have verified their Aadhaar during the application submission stage, are requested in their own interest to ensure that their Aadhaar account remains in unlocked condition in the UIDAI system before coming to exam centre to avoid inconvenience to individual and facilitate smooth registration and exam-related processes on the exam day. RRB also stated that the link for city intimation slip for RRB ALP 2026 will be released atleast 10 days before the final exam date, i.e. in the first week of February 2026. The city slip will only mention the name of the city where the examination centre will be conducted. The exam address will be given in the admit cards. The hall tickets for the RRB ALP 2026 exam will be released after the city intimation slip and nearly four days before the exam dates. Candidates should remember that they will have to carry their admit cards with them to the examination hall, as no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without producing the hall tickets first, along with a government issued and approved photo ID. "The candidate must bring their same photo identity document in original as mentioned in the application, failing which the candidate is not allowed to attend the exam," RRB stated. However, candidates should remember that no admit cards will be sent by post.
