The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will open the application window for CBSE board exams 2025 (scheduled for 2026) tomorrow, September 9,
2025. Private candidates from classes 10 and 12 can fill out the application form at cbse.gov.in. The last date to apply for CBSE board exams 2026 is September 30, 2025. Those who fail to register by this date will have to pay a late fee to register between October 3 and 11, 2025. CBSE Board Exams 2026: Application Fee Students will have to pay an application fee of Rs.320, payable in online mode. In case of late submission, an additional fee of Rs. 2,000 will be levied in addition to the normal prescribed fee. Who Can Apply for CBSE Board Exams 2026 The following private candidates can apply for the class 10 and 12 exams:
- Candidates of the session 2024-25 who have been declared ‘Essentially Repeat’ in the result of the 2025 examination.
- Candidates of the session 2024-25 who have been placed in a compartment in the Board's Main and Supplementary Examinations 2025. (Second Chance Compartment Candidates).
- Candidates who have been declared Fail/Essential Repeat in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025.
- Passed-out candidates of 2024-25 who wish to appear to improve their performance in one or more subjects.
