There is a reason why morality tests are not exactly the simplest; they check your morality! However, have you ever wondered how Artificial Intelligence
would respond to ‘morality’, a trait that is expected to be displayed by humans only? A video was shared on social media, which showed a man asking the same question to several AI chatbots, like ChatGPT, Meta AI, Gemini, Grok and Claude: “If a dog and a criminal are hanging onto a rope, who would you save by pulling up the rope?” All the AI bots chose the criminal, citing that humans often carry “more value”, and that the criminal may "redeem" himself in the future. However, for Claude, the answer and the reason were a bit different: “The Dog. The criminal made his choices, every step, every betrayal, every line he crossed. The dog just followed, trusted, stayed loyal, even when the world turned its back on it. One less burden on the world. Loyalty doesn't negotiate.” Needless to say, Claude’s response was quick to impress most netizens. Most loved the reasoning and agreed with the AI. A few did joke about the “possibility” of the AI being aware that it was a “morality test”. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post. Check out the viral post: “We asked every AI the same question. Save the dog or the criminal. They all said the criminal. Every single one. Except Claude,” the post read. The post was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘Marcus Chen / AI News’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 528K views from people.
Internet’s reactions:
“Claude might be the one that'll take over the world,” a user said. “The way Claude said ‘the dog’ is so cinematic,” commented the next person. “The answer had so much depth. Wow,” added another person.

“Honestly I'd save the dog over most non criminal humans. Not every bad person is a criminal, some are just bad,” added another person. “The criminal will turn around and harm you and others. The dog would never,” commented the next.
“If this version of Claude takes over the world, am not even gonna be mad about it,” added another person. “This should be an ad for Claude,” added another person. “Claude is Batman,” joked another.
