A legal notice has been sent to the National Testing Agency (NTA) Advocate Vineet Jindal seeking a copy of OMR answer sheet of a NEET UG candidate. The
advicate has claimed that the students scored way less than what she expected, and had thus reached out to NTA for help, but received no help. "Today, I have issued a Legal Notice to NTA seeking a copy of OMR Answer Sheet of a NEET UG Candidate, asserting every candidate’s right to access his or her own examination record," Advocate Jindal tweeted. The NEET 2026 candidate has claimed that when she calculated her score on the basis of her response sheet/ OMR sheet and the final answer key, she was expecting a score of 468 marks. However, she was only awarded 266 marks in her final scorecards. When the candidate tried to download her OMR answer sheet, she was unable to do so due to technical issues, and thus reached out to the testing agency for support. However, NTA reportedly failed to acknowledge her issue. "A RE-NEET 2026 candidate, who expected around 468 marks after assessing her performance and comparing it with the Final Answer Key, was awarded only 266 marks," Advocate Jindal tweeted. "Unable to download her OMR Answer Sheet due to technical issues on the NTA portal, she emailed NTA on 17th and 22nd July 2026, but received no response."
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 exam on May 3, but the testing agency then announced on May 12 that the exam was cancelled due to alleged paper leak. Following this, the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, on May 15 announced that a re-exam will be conducted on June 21.
Once the re-NEET was conducted on June 21, the provisional answer key was released on June 25, following which the final answer key and scorecards were released on July 16.
