Pune Weather: Pune experienced a sharp fall in night-time temperature, which made Saturday morning feel very cold for residents. Many people woke up shivering
as the chill set in early. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature will rise during the day and may reach around 29°C by afternoon. The IMD said that similar weather conditions will continue for the next 48 hours. Night-time temperatures are likely to stay close to 10°C, before slowly increasing by one or two degrees in the coming days. On Saturday, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 8.1°C, which was slightly lower than Friday’s 8.3°C. IMD scientists explained that cold and dry winds from northern regions caused this drop in temperature. Daytime temperatures have gone up to nearly 30°C. Weather officials said that clear skies allow strong sunlight, which warms the city during the day, even as nights and early mornings stay cold. Many residents also noticed a light haze in the early morning. The IMD explained that this is common in winter. When temperatures fall and the air becomes stable, dust and pollution stay close to the ground, creating haze. Officials added that this haze usually disappears as the day becomes warmer and does not last all day.
