The University of Mumbai (MU) has announced the commencement of Undergraduate admissions for the academic session 2026-27. The students who are eligible
can apply for MU UG admission 2026 from May 6, 2026, by visiting the official website of MU at muugadmission.samarth.edu.in. Following the NEP 2020 guidelines, the University of Mumbai will begin accepting admissions for the three-year UG academic programme, 4-year honours in research, and 5-year integrated UG and PG courses. However, MU has already started its pre-admission process for the UG students before the Maharashtra board HSC results 2026 were released. The MU pre-registration process is held in two phases by the university. The first phase was concluded before the Class 12 results were declared. The second phase of the registration and application process dates have now been released after the declaration of HSC results 2026.

Special Provision for MU UG Admissions 2026
In addition, according to the rules, there are special provisions for the reservation for the following categories at Mumbai University for 2026.
- Women's Reservation: 30% reservation for women.
- Physically Handicapped: 5% reservation for physically handicapped students.
- Supernumerary/Special Category Seats: Wards or grandchildren of freedom fighters, the central and state governments/ex-servicemen.
- Widows or deserted female students: National or state-level sports achievers.
- Minority & Management Quota: 15% management quota applies to affiliated colleges, including minority colleges.
- Central Government/NCC/NSS: Students with achievements in NCC or NSS.
