The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has commenced the counselling process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 to offer admissions
into five-year undergraduate and postgraduate programs 2026-2027. Candidates who have cleared the admission test are eligible to participate in the counselling process through consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Notably, eligible ones will receive invitations via email, SMS, and their CLAT portal to participate in counselling. Candidates have until December 27, 2025, to submit their requests by paying the prescribed application fee. While entering preferences, candidates can choose up to a minimum of 15 UG and five PG programs. Latest> CLAT 2026 Result Out! CLAT 2026 Counselling: Registration Fee Candidates belonging to the general category will have to pay Rs 30,000 as a registration fee, whereas those from reserved categories must pay Rs 20,000. The CLAT 2026 counselling will comprise five rounds, during which candidates will have to register themselves, submit preferences, decide between ‘Freeze,’ ‘Float,’ or ‘Exit’ options when seats are allotted, and lastly, report to their respective institutes for document verification and admission completion. How to Apply for CLAT 2026 Counselling Follow the steps below to apply online:
- Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Log in to the CLAT 2026 portal using your registered credentials.
- Now, validate the invitation for CLAT counselling.
- Click on the 'Make Payment' option.
- Enter your bank details and click on the submit button.
- Pay the category-wise counselling fee.
- Then, enter your NLU preferences (UG (5-year LLB): You can fill up to 15 preferences/PG (LLM): Fill 5 preferences)
- Review your choices and submit
- Take a screenshot of the confirmation page for future reference.
