Gold Rate Today: Gold prices in India are experiencing fresh volatility as the bullion market opens amid global developments, including the US Supreme
Court’s ruling on Trump tariffs. Investors are closely watching domestic and international signals before making fresh bets. According to data issued by the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the benchmark price of gold was recorded at Rs 1,55,066 per 10 grams on Monday morning. The association’s purity-wise rates show that 24 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,55,066 per 10 grams, while 22 carat gold stood at Rs 1,42,040 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 18 carat gold was valued at 1,16,300 rupees per 10 grams. Recap: Last Trading Session Performance
On Friday, gold surged sharply in Delhi’s bullion market, climbing Rs 850 to close at Rs 1,59,500 per 10 grams. Silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 2.64 lakh per kg. A day earlier, 24-carat gold (99.9% purity) had settled at Rs 1,58,650 per 10 grams.
Internationally, spot gold advanced by $30.83 (0.62 percent) to reach $5,027.13 per ounce.
In futures trade, gold gained momentum as well. The April contract on MCX rose by Rs 1,315 (0.85 percent) to settle at Rs 1,56,134 per 10 grams, with 7,355 lots traded. On Comex, April gold futures climbed by $49.55 (1 percent) to $5,046.95 per ounce.
Expert Weigh In
Kaynat Chenwala, assistant vice president, commodities research, Kotak Securities, said gold is trading above $5,020 an ounce, while silver is also nearing $81 an ounce, amid fears of potential US-Iran tensions. He said investors are adopting a cautious stance ahead of key economic data such as personal consumption expenditure (PCE) inflation, fourth-quarter GDP, and flash PMI.
