Iran has warned the United States of "unforgettable lessons" after a US strike in southern Iran's Hormozgan province killed four people, including a child,
and injured more than 50 others at a wedding celebration. Reacting to the attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that Tehran and its allies would respond. "The dear nation of Iran and the resistance front have unforgettable lessons for the American enemy," Khamenei said, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also vowed retaliation, escalating tensions further between Tehran and Washington. IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebi warned on X that the United States "will regret its new attacks", adding that "severe punishment awaits the aggressors." The latest threats come after the strike in Hormozgan, where a wedding celebration was reportedly hit, leaving several people dead and dozens injured. Tehran’s warnings signal the possibility of a fresh Iranian response as tensions between Iran and the US continue to intensify.
US Missile Hits Iranian Wedding
Four people, including a child, have been killed and more than 50 injured after shrapnel from a US missile strike hit a residential house where a wedding was taking place in southern Iran, according to the Iranian Red Crescent. The strike hit a home in Kuhestak, in Sirik County in Hormozgan province, the Red Crescent said.
"Following a US missile attack, shrapnel hit a residential home in the city of Kuhestak," the organisation said in a post on X. It said four people, including a young child, were killed and more than 50 others injured.
Iranian state media broadcast footage purporting to show the aftermath of the strike. The images showed extensive debris and damage at the site, while people could be heard screaming.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei says Tehran will respond "with firmness".
In a post on X, Baqaei said more than 50 men, women and children were killed or wounded, describing the attack as part of a wider series of strikes in Minab, Lamerd, Qeshm and elsewhere.
"The United States’ catalogue of atrocities against the nation of Iran is now complete," he said.
It remains unclear what target the US military was seeking to hit in Sirik County.
