Mercedes-Benz has rolled out the 600,000th G-Class SUV, marking the milestone with an all-electric G 580 with EQ Technology. The vehicle was built at the Graz
plant in Austria and finished in Obsidian Black Metallic. Launched in 1979 as a military vehicle, the G-Class has evolved into a luxury off-roader while retaining its boxy design and off-road capability. The new electric G 580 continues that tradition, offering and electric drivetrain without losing the G-Wagon’s rugged character. Demand for the G-Class has surged in recent years, with the last 100,000 units produced in just two years. Over 90% of buyers customise their SUV through the MANUFAKTUR program, with more than 20,000 paint colours on offer. Mercedes-Benz has also kept interest high with limited editions like the "Stronger Than the 1980s" model. With 600,000 units now built, the G-Class remains a key player in the brand’s global SUV lineup.
