What is the story about?
McLaren has introduced the 750S JC96, a limited-edition supercar made exclusively for the Japanese market. Priced as a collector-level vehicle, only 61
units will be produced, fittingly matching the number of the 1996 F1 GTR that won the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC). The JC96 variant pays tribute through its livery, specifications and design cues, including a first-time application of McLaren’s MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK) for the Spider body style. What this really means is McLaren is tapping heritage and performance in equal parts for its most track-influenced special edition. McLaren 750S JC96: Design And Tribute
The JC96 takes after the legendary 1996 McLaren F1 GTR that ran in JGTC. It bears the famous “tiger stripe” livery of the F1 GTR with a dedication plaque. Visual upgrades also include hand-painted touches, gold on pedals and interior trim, plus custom Alcantara upholstery in three themes. Major aerodynamic work sits under those beautiful aesthetic changes. This MSO HDK kit consists of a redesigned front bumper, bearing a dual-element carbon fiber splitter, plus an elevated active rear spoiler and louvered under-wing panel. According to McLaren, these elements enable the car to generate about 10 per cent more downforce than standard models. Production will run to just 61 units, underlining its rarity. Available exclusively for the Japanese domestic market in both Coupe and Spider versions, buyers have plenty of colours to choose from for customisation. The HDK, tiger stripe livery, and unique interior elements are standard features.
