KTM has launched the all-new RC 160 in India, expanding its RC lineup with a new entry-level, track-focused motorcycle. Priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom,
Delhi), the RC 160 is positioned as an accessible fully-faired sportbike for young and aspiring riders. The new model brings KTM’s race-derived design language, hardware as well as performance to the 160cc segment, while sitting below the RC 200 and RC 390 in the brand’s portfolio. New KTM RC 160: Mechanical Setup
Coming to the mechanical side of things, the all-new KTM RC 160 is powered by a 164.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine tuned for high-revving performance. This unit puts out 18.74 hp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm, with a redline set at 10,200 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch. KTM claims a top speed of 118 km/h. Built around a trellis frame, the RC 160 uses a fully-faired sport design inspired by larger RC models. Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking hardware includes a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard. In terms of equipment, the RC 160 gets all-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster, and a 13.75-litre metal fuel tank. KTM has also included dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode, electronic fuel injection, and a CAN-enabled electronic system.
