Volvo has unleashed its first long-range plug-in hybrid SUV with the 2025 XC70. According to Volvo, the car is capable of delivering over 200 km of electric-only
driving range (as per CLTC test cycle). This mid-size crossover is riding on the new Scalable Modular Architecture (SMA) platform to address increasing demands for EV ability without making a full plunge into electric propulsion. With fast-charging capability and a combined electric-plus-fuel range exceeding 1,200 km, it covers the distance between current hybrids and all-electric models for buyers not prepared yet to go all the way toward electric driving. Volvo XC70 Plug-In Hybrid: Extended Electric Range And Charging Performance
The XC70 has an impressive electric driving range͏ of about 200 km (under the CLTC standard). Since the EV supports fast charging, it only takes 23 minutes to charge from flat to 80%.
