What is the story about?
Honda has launched the CB500 in India at Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a new 501cc roadster to its lineup. The motorcycle is offered in three variants,
with the top version priced at Rs 3.01 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike the CB350, the CB500 uses a larger 501cc single-cylinder engine and gets features such as Honda Selectable Torque Control, a slipper clutch as well as Honda RoadSync connectivity. Honda has opened bookings for the motorcycle although the complete specification details for each variant will be announced later. The CB500 is being introduced as a locally manufactured model, with the three versions differing mainly in their wheel setup and graphics.

Honda CB500 Gets 501cc Engine
The biggest talking point is the engine. The CB500 uses a 501cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with an oil cooler. Launch reports put its output at 28 hp and 43.3 Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.This makes the CB500 mechanically different from the CB350, which uses a smaller 348.36cc engine. The larger displacement also puts the new motorcycle into a different part of the retro roadster segment.
Honda CB500: Features And Hardware
Honda has equipped the CB500 with an analogue-digital instrument console and Honda RoadSync connectivity. The system brings features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts.The motorcycle also gets Honda Selectable Torque Control along with a slipper clutch. Hardware includes a telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.
Wheel sizes stand at 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Honda CB500: Bookings And Deliveries
HMSI had already opened bookings for the CB500 in India. The company is taking a phased approach to the three variants, with detailed configurations scheduled to be revealed at different times.The Alloy variant is due to receive its detailed specification announcement in Q3 FY2026-27 while the Spoke and Spoke With Graphics versions are scheduled for Q4 FY2026-27. Deliveries will follow the respective specification announcements.
