If you have deep pockets and chic taste, then Mini India may have the perfect weekend car for you. As a follow-up to the Mini Cooper S, the brand has now
launched the Cooper S Convertible in India to keep the momentum going. The fully imported CBU car gets a price tag of Rs 58.50 lakh ex-showroom and promises to deliver as a stylish convertible with sporty driving characteristics. The carmaker claims that the new Cooper S Convertible can go from 0-100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds and here's a real-world acceleration try-out to put that claim to the test. Watch Here:
As we just saw, the 2025 Cooper S Convertible was able to do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just a little under 7.5 seconds. We can attribute the 0.6-second difference to road conditions and the Mini's convertible top being down, which may have led to a marginal increase in drag. Nevertheless, that is some serious pace and highlights the fun factor associated with driving a Mini.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible features a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque. It delivers seamless acceleration thanks to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The fully electric soft top can open up while driving at up to 30 kmph and does a complete fold in 20 seconds.
For its latest iteration, the Cooper S Convertible has retained the iconic silhouette and short overhangs but the design elements have gravitated towards minimalism. Just like the hard-top Cooper S, the convertible gets the new generation LED headlamps and taillamps, the LED DRLs and taillamps have multiple welcome and goodbye animations and the exhaust tips are hidden for the new model lineup.

Could Be The Last Of Its Kind -
The new Cooper S Convertible could be the last of its kind, as parent company BMW is expected to convert the entire Mini lineup into all-electric models. This means that the Cooper S and the Cooper S convertible may be the last petrol-powered Mini Coopers to make their way into India. This would make the exclusivity quotient of the latest lot unique.
