If your vehicle is stopped for a traffic violation in Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) issues an E-Challan, a digital notice for the offence.
Instead of paper challans, the system links fines to your vehicle’s registration and allows you to view and settle them online. This saves you a trip to the police station and gives you clarity on pending traffic penalties from anywhere with internet access. You can use official government platforms, such as the Parivahan portal, KarnatakaOne, or the BTP website, to check details and complete payments securely using UPI, cards, or net banking. Always use verified government sites or trusted apps to avoid scams. Also Read: Cars To Give Crash Warnings To Each Other - How Nitin Gadkari's New V2V Technology Works?
Check E-Challan Online In Bengaluru
To see if you have any pending traffic fines, start with one of the official portals:- Parivahan e-Challan Portal: Go to the Parivahan site and select “Check Challan Status.” Enter your vehicle number, challan number, or driving licence number, fill the captcha, and click "Get Details" to view all challans linked to your vehicle.
- Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) Portal: Visit the official BTP e-Challan section and search using your vehicle or challan number. If you use your mobile number, an OTP verifies your identity before showing details.
- KarnatakaOne Website: Once you open the website, navigate to Online Service > Police > Pay Traffic Violation Fine, choose Bengaluru and follow the steps to check your challan using your mobile number and an OTP.
These methods display the offence date, type of violation, fine amount, and status of each E-Challan so you know what you owe.
Pay Your E-Challan Online
Once you have identified pending fines, you can pay online through the same platforms:- Parivahan: After fetching your challan details, click "Pay Now" beside the relevant entry. Choose a payment method - UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking. Complete the payment, and save the digital receipt.
- BTP Portal: From the Traffic Police e-Challan section, you can select pending challans and proceed with online payment through secure channels following OTP verification.
- KarnatakaOne Portal: Once challans are listed against your vehicle or mobile number, follow the on-screen prompts to pay using your preferred online option.
In some third-party apps or wallets (like Paytm or Google Pay), you can also check and pay traffic fines by selecting “Traffic Challan” as the biller and entering your vehicle number. Always confirm that the payment is processed through government-backed gateways to avoid errors or fraud.
