Ferrari, the renowned Italian marque, has lifted the veil on the brand-new SC40, a one-off creation from its Special Projects division that draws clear
inspiration from the legendary Ferrari F40. Unveiled in Maranello, the SC40 uses the underpinnings of the 296 GTB yet sports a distinctive body and styling package that channels the sharp lines and bold rear wing of the F40. Commissioned by a private client, this bespoke build blends modern hybrid performance with nostalgic flair. Also Read: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Accessories — Your Complete 2025 Price Guide
Design: Straight Lines, Big Wing, Modern Touches
The SC40’s design is anchored in a long nose, short rear overhang and a fixed high-mounted rear wing that recalls the F40’s unmistakable profile. Ferrari’s Styling Centre, led by Flavio Manzoni, adopted an “industrial design” theme, with muscular, squared volumes and precise geometries that honour the F40 without merely copying it. Notable elements include smoked Lexan louvres, large intercooler ducts, and the SC40 script engraved on the wing upright—small details that pay tribute to the original while affirming the SC40’s own identity.Mechanicals: 296 GTB DNA, Hybrid V6 Power
Under the bodywork, the SC40 shares its mid-rear chassis and 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 plus hybrid system from the 296 GTB. The combined output is reported at approximately 819 hp, delivering blistering performance including a 0-100 km/h time in the low 2-second range. While Ferrari keeps full performance data and pricing confidential, the donor car’s figures provide a clear benchmark for the one-off’s capabilities.Production And Client-Specific Build
As with all Ferrari Special Projects models, the SC40 is built for a single client, under a “coach-built” philosophy that emphasises bespoke design and exclusivity. It is not a production car or limited run—it is a unique, one-of-one piece of automotive art. The styling buck is set to be displayed at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, giving enthusiasts a chance to view the concept in person. Also Read: Tata Nexon SUV Diwali Discount — Here’s How Much You Can Save
