
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that it will pass on the entire benefit of the new GST reduction to its customers. This means
that buyers would now have to shell out 10 percent less GST on a new Mercedes-Benz purchase, leading to significant price drops of up to Rs 11 lakh. Vehicles such as the entry-level A200d, GLA 220d and top-of-the-line E-Class LWB and the GLS450d are all included in this list. 1. Mercedes-Benz A200d:
The A200d is the entry-level sedan by Mercedes-Benz in India. Before the GST reform, it was priced at Rs 48.55 lakh ex-showroom. It is now confirmed that the A200d price has dropped to Rs 45.95 lakh ex-showroom, giving you a benefit of Rs 2.6 lakh.
2. Mercedes-Benz GLA220d 4MATIC AMG Line:
In India, fans of Mercedes-Benz SUVs have the option of going for the GLA220d 4MATIC AMG Line SUV as an entry-level car. Before GST 2.0, the GLA had an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 56.50 lakh and after September 22, the same SUV would now cost Rs 52.70 lakh ex-showroom. This leads to a price reduction of Rs 3.8 lakh.
3. Mercedes-Benz C300 AMG Line:
Often referred to as the 'Baby S-Class', the new generation C-Class also benefits from the GST rate cuts. The C300 AMG Line, for example, had an ex-showroom price of Rs 68 lakh ex-showroom which has not gotten slashed to Rs 64.30 lakh ex-showroom. This brings the price difference on the C300 to Rs 3.70 lakh.
4. Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC:
The GLC SUV is the top-selling product for Mercedes-Benz India when it comes to its SUV portfolio. The facelifted GLC 300 4MATIC, which was priced at Rs 79.25 lakh ex-showroom earlier, will now cost Rs 73.95 lakh ex-showroom under the uniform GST rates. This leads to a price drop of Rs 5.3 lakh.
5. Mercedes-Benz E-Class 450 4MATIC LWB:
The E-Class is a significant model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup and also accounts for a large chunk of its sales. The high-end 450 4MATIC version of the luxury saloon now gets a price drop of Rs 5.3 lakh, as the earlier ex-showroom price of Rs 97 lakh has been dropped to Rs 91.3 lakh ex-showroom.
6. Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC:
Another popular SUV offering from the brand is the GLE 450 4MATIC. It is known for its butch appearance and has been one of the longest-running models from the brand. Pre-GST 2.0, the GLE came at a price of Rs 1.15 crore ex-showroom. However, the price has now dropped to Rs 1.07 crore ex-showroom. This brings the price difference on the GLE to Rs 8 lakh.
7. Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d AMG Line:
The GLS is what Mercedes-Benz calls a full-sized SUV. It is on the wish list of many and in the garage of several prominent personalities. The GLS 450d AMG Line catches one of the top spots in terms of price drop, as it is now Rs 11 lakh cheaper under the new GST reforms. Earlier priced at Rs 1.44 crore ex-showroom, the D-segment SUV now comes in at an ex-showroom value of Rs 1.34 crore.
8. Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC:
Just like the GLS, the S-Class is the luxury saloon counterpart for high-value customers of Mercedes-Benz. Prices for the S 450 4MATIC that were set at Rs 1.99 crore ex-showroom are now down to Rs 1.88 crore ex-showroom under GST 2.0. This confirms a drop of Rs 11 lakh on the ex-showroom value.
Like the eight Mercedes-Benz models mentioned in this list, price drops under the new GST reforms will apply to the German automaker's extensive portfolio of petrol and diesel cars in India. However, there will be no change in electric models such as the EQS, as they will continue to attract 5 percent GST as before.
