
BMW India has launched the exclusive ‘50 Jahre’ editions of the 330Li M Sport Long Wheelbase and the M340i. The new editions mark the 50th anniversary
of the legendary 3 Series. These are limited-edition models. Only 50 units each have been put on sale that can be purchased only from BMW’s online store. The cars will be built at BMW’s facility in Chennai and they stand for half a century of great looks, exciting drives, and excellent engineering. BMW 3 Series, M340i 50 Jahre Editions: Price and Design
At Rs 64 lakh (ex-showroom), the BMW 330Li 50 Jahre edition's M High-Gloss Shadowline exterior trim comes with a black kidney grille, window surrounds, diffuser, and tailpipes apart from an exclusive laser-engraved ‘1/50’ badge on the B-pillar. Inside, the cabin is carbon-fibre trim accompanied by a head-up display in 3D augmentation, curved screens, and comfort seats with extendable thigh support to raise the level of driving experience.The M340i 50 Jahre edition, priced at Rs 76.9 lakh (ex-showroom), comes with M performance door pins, exclusive ‘50 Jahre’ emblems, gloss-black M badging, and special hubcaps. It sports Jet Black 19-inch wheels with attention-grabbing red M Sport brake callipers as well as a collectible 1:18 scale model of the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL for that little bit more panache.
BMW 3 Series, M340i 50 Jahre Editions: Engines On Duty
The BMW 330Li is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor, putting out close to 258 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.2 seconds.For the M340i, power comes from a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol motor that churns out 374 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, mated to BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system for ultimate grip and stability on any road surface. As far as its acceleration time is concerned, it can do the 0 to 100 km/h run in 4.4 seconds. Other features enabling it to offer handling close to what one can term 'on rails' include an M Sport differential, adaptive suspension, variable sport steering, and M Sport brakes. It will also sound glorious if only because it happens to feature the standard M Sports exhaust.
