What is the story about?
Mini India has opened pre-launch bookings for the Cooper Oxford Edition, a limited-run Cooper S 3-door with a Union Jack roof graphic, matching bonnet
and boot stripes and Oxford-specific wheel details. It is significant because Mini hasn't announced the price or delivery schedule and the regular 3-door already starts at Rs 44.45 lakh (ex-showroom), so a special edition is likely to cost more. Bookings run through 18 authorised sales touchpoints in 17 cities. Here is what is new on the outside and the inside, what stays the same under the bonnet and what to ask the dealer before paying any booking amount.
Mini Cooper Oxford Edition: What's New Outside
A contrasting Glazed White roof carries a large Union Jack graphic and the bonnet and boot get matching stripes. British flag decals sit on the tailgate and the wheels have Oxford-specific hub caps and Union Jack valve caps. The graphic theme repeats across the roof, bonnet, rear and wheels, so it works as one design rather than a single sticker. Buyers can choose the body colour.Mini Cooper Oxford Edition: What's Inside?
The cabin of this Mini Cooper special edition gets edition-specific touches and a unique digital background for the Personal Mode on the display. Details on seats and trim haven't been published. A matching Oxford capsule of a cap and T-shirt is part of Mini's lifestyle range.Mini Cooper Oxford Edition: What Stays the Same
The edition is based on the Cooper S 3-door, which has a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo petrol engine making 204 hp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Nothing points to mechanical changes, so the edition is about looks and exclusivity and not performance. The name comes from Oxford in the UK, where the classic Mini was first built in 1959. Globally, the edition marks 25 years of Mini production at Plant Oxford. It was announced on July 9, 2026 and starts at around 35,000 euros (about Rs 37.89 lakh) in Europe.
Ask whether the booking amount is refundable and whether it locks in the final price. Ask how many units India will get, since Mini says only "limited quantities". An earlier Oxford Edition sold in India at Rs 44.90 lakh in a 25-unit run, sold exclusively through Amazon India. The new edition may be priced and sold differently, so don't treat that as a guide. The sales network covers 18 touchpoints and aftersales covers 51 touchpoints in 36 cities, so check service access in your city before you commit.
