
Mahindra has taken the wraps off the Vision SXT Concept during its Independence Day showcase, previewing a rugged, Thar-inspired pickup set to join its future
India lineup. Based on the brand’s new NU.IQ modular platform, the model is designed to accommodate both internal combustion and electric powertrains, with production expected to begin in 2028. Pronounced body creases, angular wheel-arch cladding, pull-type front door handles, roof rails, and camera-based mirrors add to its off-road-ready stance.
At the rear, off-road spec wheels are mounted on the flatbed, flanked by slim LED tail lamps connected via a matte-black strip bearing the ‘Vision.SXT’ badge. A sturdy rear bumper and roof-mounted spoiler with integrated stop lamps complete the look. Inside, the cabin is finished in black and orange, with a chunky steering wheel carrying the Vision SXT badge, a vertically oriented touchscreen, physical toggles for core functions, and a digital driver’s display.

While Mahindra has not released detailed specifications, the Vision SXT is expected to measure over four metres in length and target the compact SUV segment, competing with models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos but offering a more lifestyle-oriented proposition.
