The Mahindra Thar yet again gets a price hike, with costs increasing by up to Rs 37,000 effective July 10. This marks the third raise this year after hikes
in January and April, pushing the SUV's range to Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra has attributed the revision which applies across its SUV lineup and not just the Thar, to rising commodity costs, with increases capped at 2.7% depending on the variant. Mahindra Thar: Variant-wise Price List
The biggest jump lands on the top-spec LXT 4WD 2.2 diesel automatic, up by Rs 37,000 followed by the LXT 4WD petrol automatic at Rs 36,000 more and the LXT 4WD 2.2 diesel manual at Rs 34,000 more. Further down the range, the LXT 4WD petrol manual and the entry-level AXT 2WD diesel 1.5 manual now cost Rs 33,000 and Rs 32,500 more respectively while the LXT 2WD diesel manual and LXT 2WD petrol automatic have gone up by Rs 29,500 and Rs 27,000.In other words, every single Thar variant costs more this month than it did before July 10 with the exact increase depending on which engine, transmission as well as drivetrain combination you pick.
