What is the story about?
The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR has been revealed as a limited 350-unit model and the big update is a new ‘Beast’ mode that unlocks its most aggressive performance
setup. For Indian buyers, this matters less as a direct purchase option and more as a preview of KTM’s next-gen electronics and performance direction. The RR isn’t just a cosmetic upgrade. It’s a lighter, sharper, more focused version of the already extreme Super Duke, built to push limits on track while showcasing what KTM’s flagship naked platform is capable of.
‘Beast’ Mode And Electronics: Built For Experienced Riders
The new ‘Beast’ mode on the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is essentially the most aggressive riding setting on the bike. It sharpens throttle response significantly and reduces electronic intervention, allowing the rider to access the full potential of the engine with minimal restrictions. This isn’t meant for everyday riding. It’s clearly designed for track use or highly experienced riders.Beyond that, the electronics package is extensive and highly adjustable. Riders get multiple ride modes, traction control, wheelie control, launch control and cornering ABS, all of which can be tuned depending on riding conditions. The system focuses on giving control rather than just adding safety layers.
Weight reduction is another key part of the RR package. KTM has cut close to 10 kg compared to the standard version using carbon fibre panels, forged wheels and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust. That reduction directly impacts agility and acceleration, especially under hard riding.
Engine, Performance And Hardware Setup
Power comes from a 1,350cc LC8 V-twin engine producing around 190 hp and 145 Nm. These numbers are already among the highest in the naked bike segment. There’s no major bump in output over the standard bike but the reduced weight and sharper electronics make a noticeable difference in how the bike responds. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a quickshifter, keeping gear changes fast and uninterrupted. On the hardware side, the RR uses fully adjustable WP suspension tuned specifically for aggressive riding conditions.
Braking is handled by high-spec Brembo components, built to maintain consistency under repeated hard braking. Overall, the setup is clearly biased towards track performance rather than everyday comfort.

Limited To 350 Units: What It Means For India
Production is capped at just 350 units globally, which makes this more of a collector’s machine than a regular production bike. Availability in India is uncertain and, even if it arrives, it will likely come in very small numbers via import. What matters more is what this bike represents. KTM is clearly pushing towards more advanced electronics, lighter construction and sharper performance tuning. These are the elements that usually filter down into more accessible models later.
So while the RR itself will remain out of reach for most buyers here, its tech and approach are likely to shape the next wave of KTM performance bikes in India.
