Hyundai Motor Company has released design sketches of its upcoming electric hatchback, the Concept Three, before its official premiere at the Munich Auto
Show scheduled from September 9 to 14, 2025. The model will preview the production-bound Ioniq 3, which is positioned as Hyundai’s counterpart to the Kia EV3. The Concept Three adopts a design language Hyundai calls the “Art of Steel.” Inspired by the Ioniq 6 sedan, the hatchback carries an elongated roofline, a ducktail rear wing, and aggressive details such as a front splitter and slim wraparound headlights. Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Centre, said the project allowed the brand to “rethink the compact EV from the ground up.” The Ioniq 3 will be based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). At launch, it is expected to feature a single front-mounted motor producing 201 hp, with battery choices of 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh. Production is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026 overseas. On the inside, Hyundai is preparing a new infotainment interface that will allow customisation of ambient lighting and sound profiles according to driving modes. More technical details and production timelines are expected at the world premiere next week.
