With several spy shots circulating on the internet, the mid-life facelift of the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is surely closing towards an official launch.
The Virtus is currently among the few C-segment sedans that are being sold in India, amidst the ongoing SUV era. It is a popular choice among driving enthusiasts and people looking for a robust and German-engineered family car. Here are five big updates that we can expect in the Virtus facelift, which is expected to launch by late 2026. New Exterior Design: Being a mid-life update, the facelift will certainly include new exterior design elements. We expect the Virtus to get a new pair of LED headlamps, a new front and rear bumper design and a styling update to the taillamps as well. The alloy wheel design will most likely be refreshed but we do not expect Volkswagen to increase the wheel size from the current 16-inch spec. 2. Updated Cabin Layout: The interior of the Virtus will also most likely receive a design update. While Volkswagen is not one to offer wild concept-like interiors, the design will most likely be functional, sleek and solid in fit and feel. 3. 360-Degree Parking Camera: One drawback in the current Virtus that will most likely be worked upon is the absence of a 360-degree parking camera. This would allow drivers better assistance during reversing and parking maneuvers and bring the Virtus up to date with its rivals. 4. Rear Disc Brakes: While most enthusiasts applaud the Virtus for its performance capabilities, the lack of disc brakes at the rear has been a sore point for its fans. We can expect Volkswagen to course correct with the facelift version by introducing all four disc brakes in the sedan. 5. Level 2 ADAS Safety: Another significant gap for the Virtus, when it comes to safety features, has been the absence of Level 2 ADAS. While rivals already offer autonomous safety functions, the Virtus is expected to catch up to them with the facelift version. The ADAS suite would also help the new Virtus retain its 5-star crash safety rating. While Volkswagen India is yet to make an official announcement of the Virtus facelift and its arrival, reports and spy shots suggest that the updated sedan can be expected to launch in the country in the second half of 2026.
