The upcoming GST 2.0 tax regime, set to take effect on September 22, 2025, will bring a significant change for mid-capacity motorcycles. Under the new
rules, bikes with an engine capacity of 350cc or less will move from the existing 28 percent tax slab to a lower 18 percent slab. This shift is expected to cut prices considerably for models falling under this category. Among the affected models is the Royal Enfield Classic 350, one of the manufacturer’s highest-selling motorcycles in India. Royal Enfield has confirmed that prices of its 350cc motorcycles, including the Classic 350, will decrease by up to Rs 22,000 once the new tax rates come into force. Although the company has not released the revised price list yet, the estimated reduction signals a substantial relief for potential buyers. Currently, the Classic 350 is priced between Rs 2.03 lakh and Rs 2.34 lakh (ex-showroom). With the new GST rate applied, the motorcycle could start at below Rs 2 lakh for certain variants, making it more competitive in the 350cc segment.
