Bharat NCAP has awarded the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza a 5-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection, releasing the results just a day ahead
of the facelift's official India launch. The SUV scored 30.41 out of 32 points for adult safety and 43 out of 49 for child safety with the tested variant carrying 6 airbags, electronic stability control as well as ISOFIX anchorages as standard. This matters because Bharat NCAP has confirmed these results apply across every Brezza variant and not just the top-spec model tested. This gives potential buyers of even the base trim the same safety assurance. Here's exactly how the Brezza facelift performed and where it actually lost points.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift: Adult Occupant Protection
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the driver's head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet all received 'good' protection ratings while the chest and shin area were rated 'adequate' rather than 'good'. The co-driver side mirrored this almost exactly, with every measured body part rated 'good' except the shins, again rated 'adequate'. The side movable barrier test was a clean sweep with the passenger's head, chest, abdomen and pelvis all scoring 'good', and the separate side pole impact test also returned a solid result. Combined, this added up to 14.41 out of 16 points for the frontal test and a full 16 out of 16 for the side test.

What About Child Safety?
The
new Brezza scored full marks on two of the three child safety components: 24 out of 24 on the dynamic crash test and 12 out of 12 on child seat installation using both an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old test dummy, each scoring a full 8 out of 8 in frontal impacts and 4 out of 4 in side impacts. The only weak spot was the vehicle assessment score, where the Brezza managed just 7 out of 13 points, pulling its overall child protection score down to 43 out of 49 despite the otherwise strong showing.
Which Variant Was Actually Tested?
Bharat NCAP tested the ZXI+ trim with the 1.5-litre engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox but has stated these results carry over to every other Brezza variant. The tested car came equipped with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, seatbelt reminders across all seating positions, seatbelt pretensioners on the front row and ISOFIX child seat anchorages on the rear outboard seats, giving buyers a clear baseline for what safety equipment to expect regardless of which trim they eventually choose.
