Mahindra & Mahindra has started 2026 with impressive sales numbers, as the company reported 1,04,309 total vehicle sales in January, which marks a 24%
year-on-year growth including exports. However, the top performers are SUVs with 63,510 utility vehicles sold in the domestic market, up 25% over the same month last year. From Mahindra’s utility vehicle (UV) portfolio, models such as the Scorpio-N, XUV700 and Bolero Neo, continue to drive volumes. Domestic UV sales rose from 50,659 units last January to 63,510 units now. Year-to-date figures also show steady momentum, with UV sales up 19% compared to last year. Mahindra’s light commercial vehicles (LCVs) under 3.5 tonnes also posted strong gains. Domestic sales in this category reached 27,656 units, a 22% growth. These vehicles are widely used by small businesses, delivery operators and rural transporters, making them a good indicator of ground-level economic activity. Three-wheelers, including electric variants, grew 28%, touching 9,566 units. This category is important for last-mile passenger movement and goods transport in small towns and cities. Mahindra’s exports grew modestly by 5% in January to 3,577 units, while year-to-date exports are up 23%, showing improving demand in overseas markets. With over 1.04 lakh vehicles sold in a single month, Mahindra appears well-positioned to carry this momentum through the rest of 2026.
