added 17 new 12-meter electric buses into its fleet. The route they are operating on is the new AC Coastal Road—A-84—connecting Oshiwara depot to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum). 17 Electric Buses Join Mumbai's BEST Fleet
BEST has lately augmented its electric bus fleet. The 17 new electric buses from Nagpur-based Mumbadevi Mobility under the PMI brand were flagged off by Mr. Asheesh Sharma (IAS) from the Colaba depot, as part of all out efforts of BEST for having cleaner and greener mass transit system in line with a larger initiative towards electrification of its fleet.New Coastal Road Service Introduced
The new buses will run on AC Route A-84 from Oshiwara depot to Museum through Coastal Road having halts at Worli, Marine Drive, Churchgate, Mahim, Andheri, and Santacruz. Modern Amenities And Cleaner Commute
The new PMI e-buses are not just environmentally friendly but also enhance the entire experience by providing better services. These buses have air conditioning systems, public address systems, and charging points for both mobile and laptop devices. Comfort is a very basic need of daily commuters. More than 1,000 electric buses added to the BEST fleet are steps towards sustainable public transportation.That’s a major upgrade for people commuting between South Mumbai and the western suburbs. It is expected to be a smoother, faster, cleaner option via the Coastal Road route. As the service gets more frequent, people commuting via these buses might also increase in numbers. If that happens, there will be even more convenience and reduction in emissions too.
