The Axis My India exit poll projects a close contest between the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and the Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar Assembly elections.
According to the poll, the NDA, led by Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar, is projected to win between 121 and 141 seats, giving it a narrow edge over the opposition alliance.
The Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, is expected to secure between 98 and 118 seats, suggesting a competitive and unpredictable electoral outcome.
The prediction points toward a thrilling fight for control of the Bihar Assembly, with the NDA possibly retaining power in the state.
The exit poll findings highlight that voter sentiment in Bihar remains sharply divided, with regional dynamics and local leadership playing a key role in shaping the results.
The projected number closely reflect the actual results of the 2020 assembly elections — in which the NDA got 125 seats (just crossing the 122-majority mark) while the Mahagathbandhan got 110 seats.
Axis My India has predicted that while the NDA will be ahead of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, the RJD will emerge as the single-largest party when results for the assembly polls are announced on November 14.
In a party-wise break-up, it predicted that the RJD would be the single-largest party getting between 67 to 76 seats, followed by the JD(U) at 56 to 62 seats, BJP 50 to 56 seats, Congress 17 to 21 seats, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) three to five seats, and Left parties 10 to 14 seats.
The exit poll gave a gender-wise break-up of vote share. It projected that while the NDA will get 41 percent male and 45 percent female votes, the Mahagathbandhan will get 42 percent male and 40 percent female votes.
The majority mark in the 243-member assembly is 122. The Bihar polls were conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the counting of votes on November 14.Exit poll projections are made by election survey agencies based on interviews of voters as they come out after casting their vote. These may vary widely from the actual results.
As voting concluded with the second and final phase of the election on Tuesday (November 11), Bihar recorded its highest-ever voter turnout of 66.91 percent, seen as a veritable referendum on the state’s longest-serving CM — Nitish Kumar.
