Priyanka Chopra is all praise for SS Rajamouli
Priyanka is all set to return to Indian movies with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, Varanasi. It also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles. According to the Associated Press, the actress shared, “The filmmaker’s name is SS Rajamouli sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think and I am very excited about it.”
Varanasi will mark her return to Indian films, as she was last seen in The Sky is Pink in 2019. The epic action-adventure film Varanasi will also mark her debut in the Telugu industry. In the film, Priyanka will essay the role of Mandakini, while Prithiviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist Kumbha. Varanasi will feature music by MM Keeravani. It is produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business. The film will release on April 7, 2027. The film’s official title was announced in November 2025 during a grand event in Hyderabad.
SS Rajamouli also unveiled a short teaser packed with breathtaking visuals, hinting at a story that unfolds across multiple timelines and locations. The teaser ends on a powerful note, with Mahesh appearing as the protagonist Rudhra, charging through the lanes of Varanasi on a bull. The visuals truly left the audience mesmerized.
Meanwhile, Priyanka’s upcoming film The Bluff will stream from February 25 on Amazon Prime Video. She also has Nicholas Stoller’s movie, Judgment Day, with Zac Efron, Will Ferrell, and Regina Hall in the pipeline.
