The prime minister also expressed his happiness at meeting the UAE president and said that both leaders have been talking over the phone regularly.
“For the past some time, we had been talking over the phone regularly. I used to keep speaking to you over the phone, but I was very eager to meet you in person…,” said PM Modi.
“I extend heartfelt gratitude to you for taking our comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights. During your visit to India in January, we agreed to qualitatively upgrade our relations. Even in such a small duration, we have made significant progress in all matters. In the kind of situation we have at hand today, the importance of India-UAE strategic cooperation has vastly increased. In the time to come, we will go ahead together in every area,” the prime minister added.
During the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, the United Arab Emirates has come under multiple missile and drone attacks allegedly launched by Iran, significantly escalating tensions across the Gulf region.
Several strikes reportedly targeted strategic locations, including oil facilities and areas near Fujairah Port, prompting the UAE to activate its air defence systems to intercept incoming projectiles.
