Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group C match against Sikkim at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur helped him break his previous record of a 63-ball century, which he made against Afghanistan during India’s 2023 ODI World Cup league match in Delhi on October 11.
Rohit, who is the world’s No. 1 ODI batter, faced a total of 94 balls on Wednesday and, with the help of 18 fours and 9 sixes, scored 155 runs. By playing a knock of 155 runs in Mumbai’s 8-wicket win, Rohit equalled David Warner’s world record of most 150+ scores in List A cricket.
Warner played 210 List A matches from 2007 to 2023 and scored 8886 runs. He registered scores of 150+ nine times in the 50-over format of the game, and now Rohit also has nine 150+ scores to his credit.
Rohit has crossed the 150-run mark eight times in 279 ODI matches for India and one time in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as a Mumbai player.

During his 14-year-long ODI career for Australia from 2009 to 2023, Warner played 161 ODIs and registered seven scores of 150+. His other two 150+ scores in List A matches came while representing New South Wales.
The century by Rohit on Friday also helped him become the second oldest player (38 years and 238 days) in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to score a century. Bengal’s Anustup Majumdar was more than 39 years old when he scored a couple of centuries in the 2023-24 season.
