With India on the cusp of scripting history with its first-ever private rocket liftoff, a handwritten message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to space aboard Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1
rocket. In his message on the commemorative postcard, PM Modi wrote: “Vande Mataram“, as if reflecting the hopes and aspirations of billions of Indians.
The postcard will travel beyond the Earth’s atmosphere, and if everything goes according to plan, India will become the third nation in the world –– after the United States and China –– with a private company capable of launching a rocket into orbit.
In response to the Prime Minister’s message, Skyroot penned a note titled “A Billion Dreams… Even More Possibilities.”

“Every new satellite in space transforms life on Earth. They connect billions to the internet, help precise navigation, enable precision agriculture, monitor our planet, forecast weather, detect disaster, strengthen national security, improve weather forecasting, guide fishermen to richer waters, help combat climate change, and will increasingly power the AI-driven world of tomorrow”, the message read.
PM Modi’s Best Wishes For Skyroot Team
Ahead of the defining liftoff, PM Modi penned a note, extending his best wishes to the Skyroot and Vikram-1 launch teams. In a post on ‘X’, PM Modi wrote: “A historic new frontier for India’s space journey! At 11:30 AM today, Skyroot Aerospace will undertake the maiden orbital launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed launch vehicle.”
The Prime Minister noted how India continues to unlock new opportunities in the space sector, adding the achievements reflects “the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth”.

“This four-stage rocket is designed to provide rapid and on-demand launch services. This mission highlights the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. It also shows how our space-sector reforms are unlocking new opportunities for innovation and enterprise”, he said.

About Vikram-1 Launch
The Vikram-1 rocket is all set for a launch from the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) launch facility in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday.
Named after the father of India’s space programme, Vikram Sarabhai, the seven-storey rocket will be headed for the Low Earth Orbit which is 450 km away. With the launch –– marking India’s first private rocket liftoff, Skyroot aims to offer what it describes as a “cab service to space“.
