Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s top SUV maker, has revealed its all-new NU_IQ platform — a modular, multi-energy architecture designed to power a new era of SUVs.
This advanced platform will support a variety
of powertrains and designs, giving the brand flexibility to innovate while staying true to its rugged SUV DNA.
The NU_IQ platform marks a bold shift, promising customers freedom from compromises in performance, design, and technology. Mahindra showcased four exciting concept SUVs built on this base — Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X.
Why Is This a Big Deal for Mahindra?
According to R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business (Designate) at Mahindra, NU_IQ is a strategic blueprint for the brand’s global SUV future. It allows the creation of multiple vehicle types, all designed to deliver premium quality, strong performance, and world-class safety.
Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer, explained that these concepts are part of Mahindra’s evolving HEARTCORE design philosophy — blending emotional appeal with futuristic innovation. Inspired by the theme ‘Opposites Attract’, the designs bring together contrasting elements for a striking, modern look.
The Four Concepts
- Vision.S – Sporty solidity with a dynamic road presence.
- Vision.T – Born Iconic, combining rugged capability with luxury.
- Vision.SXT – Adventure-ready with a refined touch.
- Vision.X – Sculptural athleticism for those who want style and power.
Each model has been jointly developed by Mahindra India Design Studio (Mumbai) and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (UK), blending heritage with cutting-edge innovation.
When Will We See Them on Roads?
Mahindra plans to put the NU_IQ platform into production starting 2027. These SUVs aim to set new benchmarks in premium mobility, offering customers a blend of capability, style, and no-compromise performance.
