When Is Dhanteras 2026: Dhanteras marks the beginning of the five-day-long Diwali festivities. It is followed by Narak Chaturdashi (Choti Diwali), Lakshmi Pujan (Diwali) on November 8th, Govardhan Puja,
and concluding with Bhai Dooj. On Dhanteras, the purchase of gold, silver, utensils or any form of metal is considered auspicious. The day is also known as Dhantrayodashi. Later in the day, devotees pray to Lord Kuber. As per Hindu mythology, he is the god of wealth, prosperity and glory.
