HDFC Bank FD Rates 2025: India’s largest private lender, HDFC Bank, has announced to revise fixed deposit interest rate for less than Rs 3 crore. The new rates on FDs became effective from December 17,
2025.
FD rates are varied depending on tenors of the deposits, ranging from a minimum of seven days up to 10 years. The rates are in the range of 2.75 per cent to 6.45 per cent for the general public, with an additional interest to senior citizens in the range between 3.75 per cent to 6.95 per cent.
HDFC Bank’s revision of fd rates comes on the heels of RBI’s repo rate cut decision in December MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) meeting, where the central bank had slashed the benchmark rate 25 bps further to 5.25 per cent from 5.50 per cent.

Deposits with a maturity of 7 to 29 days earn an interest rate of 2.75 per cent per annum for general customers, while senior citizens get a higher return of 3.25 per cent.
For medium-term deposits, returns improve further. Fixed deposits with a tenure of over six months and up to nine months offer 5.50 per cent per annum for general customers and 6.00 per cent for senior citizens. Deposits with a maturity of more than nine months but less than one year fetch 5.75 per cent for the general public and 6.25 per cent for senior citizens.
Longer-term deposits continue to offer relatively stable and attractive returns. From 15 months up to three years, most tenors carry interest rates in the range of 6.35 per cent to 6.45 per cent for general customers, with senior citizen rates higher at 6.85 per cent to 6.95 per cent. Deposits with maturities between three years and up to around five years earn about 6.40 per cent for the general public and 6.90 per cent for senior citizens. For very long tenors of over five years and up to 10 years, the interest rate stands at 6.15 per cent per annum, while senior citizens continue to enjoy a higher return of 6.65 per cent.
