Google has announced a new student offer in India that gives eligible college students one year of Google AI Plus at no cost, along with expanded access to Gemini and additional study-focused AI tools.
The offer is aimed at helping students use Google’s artificial intelligence services for research, revision, project work and other academic tasks.
Under the offer, eligible students can get Google AI Plus free for one year. The plan includes access to Gemini, higher usage limits for supported Gemini features and 400GB of cloud storage, according to Google’s latest information on AI Plus benefits.
Google is also promoting a discounted bundle combining Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium. The company says eligible students can access the bundle at up to 70% off, giving them both AI features and an ad-free streaming experience.
What Students Get With Google AI Plus
The student offer is designed to provide more access to Google’s AI ecosystem throughout the academic year. Students can use Gemini for tasks such as understanding complex subjects, working through ideas, coding and research.
Google AI Plus currently includes Gemini, Gemini in Gmail, Gemini Notebook and 400GB or 2TB of storage, depending on the plan. Google also notes that some advanced features have separate age requirements and that AI-generated responses can sometimes be inaccurate.
The company is also introducing a dedicated student hub in Gemini. This is intended to give students a central place to access learning tools and organise their study activities.
Gemini Gets New Study Tools For Students
One of the key additions is personalised study notebooks. Students can use diagnostic quizzes to identify areas where they are strong and topics where they need more work. Gemini can then use that information to create smaller, tailored study plans based on individual learning goals.
Google is also expanding Gemini Live for learning. Students can discuss Deep Research reports with Gemini through a live conversation, making it possible to ask follow-up questions and explore research findings while on the move.
The wider Gemini ecosystem is increasingly being positioned as a study assistant rather than simply a general-purpose chatbot. Google says its education tools are designed with safety measures and learning science in mind, while keeping teachers in control of the classroom experience.
Google Search Adds More AI-Powered Learning Features
Google is also adding new learning features to Search. Students will be able to create interactive visuals to better understand difficult concepts and generate practice quizzes for different subjects, including preparation for standardised tests.
Another feature uses Google Lens to provide step-by-step help. This could allow students to work through questions or concepts progressively rather than simply receiving a final answer.
Google is also introducing tools for organising academic projects. Students will be able to use notebooks and custom files to keep research and study materials together, potentially making it easier to manage larger assignments.
How To Claim The Google Student Offer
Students interested in the promotion can check their eligibility and claim the offer through Google’s student subscription page. Google AI plans are tied to personal Google Accounts, while eligibility and access to individual features can vary by age, location and plan.
With the new promotion, Google is making a broader push to bring Gemini and AI-powered Search tools into students’ everyday academic routines. The combination of a free year of AI Plus, additional storage and new study features could make the offer particularly useful for students beginning a new academic year.
