Margot Robbie’s Wuthering Heights has been generating significant buzz lately, with the cast actively promoting the film. In one recent interview, the actress reflected on receiving unsolicited advice
to “eat less” from a fellow actor early in her career.
Speaking to Wuthering Heights musician Charli XCX for Complex, Robbie responded to a question about the worst gift she had ever received. She revealed that it was a book containing this unwelcome advice, given to her during the early days of her rise in the industry.
In the interview, Margot Robbie said, “Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called Why French Women Don’t Get Fat, and it was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” said Robbie. She added, “I was like, ‘Whoa, f— you, dude.’”
The lifestyle guide from Mireille Guiliano was published in 2007.

Margot Robbie did not name the actor who gifted her this book, but mentioned this was “really back in the day,” and “I have no idea where he would even be now.” She added, “He essentially gave me a book to let me know that I should lose weight. I was like, ‘Wow’.”
Charli XCX On Her Worst Gift
Interestingly, Charli xcx also recalled the worst gift she received so far. She said, “I received once a small jar of one of my fan’s mother’s ashes.” The pop star added, “It was a jar on a necklace. I just didn’t quite know what to do with it … I don’t know where it is now.” In the same interview, the duo also revealed their picks for the greatest Hollywood heartthrobs of all time, with Charli choosing Jack Nicholson and Robbie selecting the late Montgomery Clift.
