Awarapan 2 has continued to stay ahead of Batwara 1947 at the box office. The Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani starrer crossed the Rs 90 crore mark within four days, even though its collections dropped sharply
on Monday. According to Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 earned Rs 9.25 crore net in India on Day 4. This was a 64.4% drop from its Sunday collection of Rs 26 crore. With Monday’s earnings added, the film’s India net collection now stands at around Rs 91 crore.
Awarapan 2 Crosses Rs 90 Crore
The film had a much stronger weekend, which helped it build a comfortable lead early in its run. Monday brought a noticeable slowdown, but Awarapan 2 still managed to cross the Rs 90 crore milestone. The next target for the film is now the Rs 100 crore mark. It needs around Rs 9 crore more to get there.
Overseas, Awarapan 2 added around Rs 2.50 crore on Day 4. This takes its total overseas gross collection to Rs 21.80 crore so far. The film’s worldwide gross now stands at approximately Rs 130.82 crore.
Batwara 1947 Sees Another Dip
Meanwhile, Batwara 1947 witnessed a significant drop at the box office on its first Monday, August 17. The film collected around Rs 2 crore net in India, with an overall occupancy of about 11% across 6,771 shows. This marks a 72.4% decline from the Rs 7.25 crore it earned on Sunday.
While both Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2 released on the same day (August 14), the gap between the two films has become quite wide. Awarapan 2 earned more than four times as much as Batwara 1947 on Day 4 in India.
Batwara 1947 has reached an India net total of Rs 28.50 crore in four days, and its India gross stands at around Rs 33.95 crore. The film added approximately Rs 0.75 crore from overseas on Day 4, taking its overseas gross to Rs 6.25 crore. Its worldwide gross now stands at about Rs 40.20 crore.
