Dhurandhar’s spectacular second weekend run showed no signs of slowing down, as the film delivered a massive boost on Day 9. What was expected to be a strong Saturday turned into a full-blown surge, pushing
the spy thriller into rare box-office territory and placing it firmly on track for the Rs 400 crore milestone in record time. Dhurandhar Has Its Biggest Jump Yet on Day 9 Early estimates showed that Dhurandhar collected Rs 50.9 crore net on its second Saturday, marking one of the biggest Day 9 earnings ever for a Hindi film. The Aditya Dhar directorial recorded an overall 66.09% Hindi occupancy, with several centres reporting near-packed shows throughout the day. Dhurandhar’s first week stood at Rs 207.25 crore, followed by a solid Rs 32.5 crore on Day 8. With Saturday’s spike, the film’s India net collection has now climbed to Rs 290.65 crore, and its global run continues to impress. A Historic Second Weekend on the Cards Industry trackers noted that Dhurandhar has already overtaken previous benchmarks, including the second Saturday record held by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (Rs 46 crore). Dhurandhar’s Saturday jumped 55% from Friday, with occupancy touching 65–70% across major circuits. The film is now positioned to score Rs 135 crore+ in its second weekend alone, which will push its 10-day total to over Rs 342 crore. If this momentum holds, Dhurandhar is expected to near Rs 400 crore by the end of Week 2 — an exceptional climb driven by strong word-of-mouth, repeat audiences and heavy demand in urban and mass belts alike. Capacity Issues Point to Strong Weekdays Ahead Reports from multiple theatres showed capacity saturation, especially during prime shows. While this caused sold-out screens on Saturday and likely on Sunday, such demand typically leads to excellent weekday holds, a trend Dhurandhar has followed since release. Cast and Release Details Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. The film released on December 5 and has dominated the box-office conversation ever since.
