Delhi Capitals (DC)’s Sneh Rana registered the most unwanted record for a cricketer on Sunday (January 11), conceding the most runs in an over, 32, in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history. Gujarat Giants
(GG)’s Sophie Devine hit her for two consecutive boundaries, followed by three back-to-back sixes in the fourth match of WPL 2026 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
It happened in the last over of the power play. Rana missed her lengths on the first two balls, and Devine responded with a big flick to the leg side and a cut, respectively, for boundaries. She stepped down and hoicked her first six over long-on on the next ball, following it up with a stand-and-deliver maximum.

On the fourth ball, she went down on one knee to hit a slog over the cow corner. Under pressure, Rana couldn’t help but bowl a full toss on the final ball, which Devine duly punished.
The previous most expensive overs were 28 runs by Deepti Sharma against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow last season. Interestingly, that day, Rana was the batter and only got out on the last ball of the over — that over went a long way in enhancing Rana’s image as an all-rounder, which helped her India career.
With Beth Mooney on the other end, the Giants contrived to finish the powerplay at 80/0, the highest in the first six overs for this edition and the second-best overall. Devine continued her assault against DC’s spinners, hitting three sixes in four balls against Shree Charani in the ninth over, too.
She eventually got out for a 42-ball 95 in the 11th over. Nandani Sharma outfoxed her with a slower one, which the New Zealand legend miscued high and over short fine leg, where Charani took a good catch.
It was her second knock that ended in the 90s after a 99 against the Giants while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2023. That made it six 90-plus scores in WPL without anyone managing a ton.
