A major political controversy erupted in poll-bound West Bengal after an alleged video of Humayun Kabir, claiming his ties with top BJP leaders, went viral. Reacting to the video, Kabir denied the allegations
and said it was AI-generated. He further slammed Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of “conspiring” against him.
Speaking to ANI, the AJUP founder, who built the Babri Masjid in Bengal, said: “Mamata Banerjee is conspiring against me. She is mentioning my name wherever she goes and is speaking against me. The common people will respond to her. Mamata Banerjee will not come to power in the 2026 elections.”
“The video shows it to be 19th December, with me sitting in a flat, but I have never stayed the night in that flat. The video, which appears to be recorded after 8 pm, is AI-generated. A YouTube channel, created on 8th April, posted it as its first video. I will file a case against them in the High Court. The judiciary will respond to this. I will defeat Mamata Banerjee and will not let the communal BJP come to power in West Bengal,” he further clarified.

The Trinamool Congress shared the purported video during a press conference. In the video, Kabir is allegedly seen claiming links with Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the Prime Minister’s Office as part of a multi-crore plan to defeat Banerjee in the polls.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reacted sharply on the viral video claiming AJUP founder Humayun Kabir is working with BJP to win Bengal elections. Denying such claims, Amit Shah said, “Humayun Kabir and the BJP are like the South Pole and the North Pole—we can never align. We would rather sit in the opposition for another 20 years than sit alongside those who build the Babri Masjid in Bengal.”
