Hours after Delhi Police registered an FIR in connection with the alleged theft of AI wearable devices during the ongoing India AI Impact Summit, the Bengaluru-based AI startup founder confirmed that the devices have
been recovered — nearly 24 hours after he first flagged the incident.
The start-up founder on Tuesday alleged that the company’s wearable devices were stolen from inside a “high-security zone” at the India AI Impact Summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
Two individuals have been identified who were present at the AI Summit to work. They are investigating whether this is a case of theft or if the wearables were mistakenly taken away, India Today reported, citing police sources.
Giving an update on the theft incident, Dhananjay Yadav, founder of NeoSapien, took to social media and informed that the devices were traced swiftly following police action.
“Just wanted to update everyone, our devices have been recovered. Huge thanks to Delhi Police for the superfast response and support. Truly grateful for all the messages, help, and encouragement we’ve received over the last two days, it means a lot to me,” he wrote in a post on X.

Alleged Product Theft At AI Impact Summit
In a shocking incident, the founder of NeoSapien on Tuesday claimed that a theft occurred during the India AI Impact Summit after exhibitors were asked to vacate their stalls ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
“Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us,” Dhananjay Yadav wrote on X. “I came genuinely excited… it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push.”
He said that at around 12 noon, security personnel arrived to sanitise and cordon off the area ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit at 2 pm. “I explained that we’re building India’s first patented AI wearable at NeoSapien and requested a chance to showcase it,” he said.
Yadav further highlighted “lack of co-ordination between the security” and said that while one officer allegedly allowed him to stay, another group later ordered him and his team to leave immediately.
“I asked: ‘Should we take our wearables?’ They said, others are leaving even laptops behind, security will take care. Trusting them, I left. Hoping that the wearables will be safe, and if I am lucky, it might catch the eye of PM Modi,” he wrote, adding that the gates were closed from 12 pm to 6 pm — “much, much longer than expected.”
When they were allowed back in, he claimed, the devices were gone.
“Later we found out that our wearables were stolen,” he wrote. “Only to see our wearables disappear inside a high-security zone. If only security and official entourage had access, how did this happen? This is extremely disappointing.”

But what happened next was shocking.
