Junaid Khan makes his own career decisions Aamir also revealed that his son rarely seeks advice before committing to projects. “I taught Junaid how to play chess when he was just four years old. He first beat me when he was 18, a full 14 years later. Now, however hard I try, I can never beat him in the game! He always wins. And one more thing. Junaid does not consult me about anything he takes on. I believe he has signed two films, one of which is with Ektaa Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms. He decides these things himself, and that’s great,” Aamir added. Aamir Khan talks about Ek Din Aamir also spoke about Ek Din, the upcoming romantic film starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi. He described the film as a classic love story that audiences may not have seen in a long time. The actor added that the film was partly shot in Japan, though the reason behind the setting would become clear only after the film releases. Is Ek Din similar to Saiyaara? During the conversation, Aamir was asked whether Ek Din explores Alzheimer’s disease in a way similar to the 2025 film Saiyaara. He laughed at the suggestion and clarified that the two films are completely different.
Saiyaara story
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, was a musical romantic drama produced by Yash Raj Films. The movie starred Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and was loosely based on the South Korean film A Moment to Remember. In the story, Aneet Padda’s character is shown to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Aamir made it clear that Ek Din does not follow a similar storyline.
About the film Ek Din
Ek Din is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit. The romantic drama is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1.
The film marks Junaid Khan’s third major project as a lead actor, while Sai Pallavi will make her Bollywood debut with the same film. Reports suggest the film is inspired by the 2016 Thai romance drama One Day, which follows a man who secretly loves his colleague but lacks the courage to confess his feelings.
