Janhvi Kapoor has found herself at the receiving end of online criticism after her dating advice to Veer Pahariya on Koffee With Karan Season 9 sparked debate on social media. During the rapid-fire round,
the actress quipped, “Never take her to a concert,” prompting several viewers to interpret the remark as a dig at Veer’s former girlfriend, Tara Sutaria. While some found the comment cheeky, others questioned why another woman had to become the punchline of a joke.
Janhvi Kapoor faces heat for her comment against Tara Sutaria
Janhvi Kapoor’s remark appears to have brought back memories of the controversy surrounding Tara Sutaria and Veer Pahariya’s appearance at singer AP Dhillon’s Mumbai concert in December 2025. Tara joined the singer on stage for a performance, and a video showing their interaction went viral, fuelling speculation about Veer’s reaction. The former couple reportedly parted ways in January 2026, although neither has publicly confirmed the reason for their reported breakup.
While some viewers took Janhvi’s remark as a light-hearted quip, others criticised it for seemingly dragging another woman into the joke. One user wrote, “Am I the only one who didn’t like this? She was slutshamed for a while. This was unnecessary.” Another user commented, “The silence is so loud… why would Janhvi throw shade like that?” A third user wrote, “She tried being cool! But all she did came across as rude and pathetic.” One of the comments read, “Putting other women down isn’t funny, it’s just embarrassing.” Others were seen asking Janhvi to “please hesitate.”

Janhvi made the remark during the rapid-fire round of Koffee With Karan Season 9, where she appeared with Varun Dhawan. Varun, Karan and Arjun Kapoor, who made a cameo on the show, exchanged puzzled looks after Janhvi’s remark. Although the conversation offered no further clarification, her one-liner was enough to bring the spotlight back on the viral concert controversy involving Tara Sutaria and AP Dhillon.
